National Dachshund Races Welcome A Message from Toni Gossard, Our Founder The Charities We Support
WORTHY CHARITIES THE NATIONAL DACHSHUND RACES SUPPORT

As always the National Dachshund Races is a non-profit. As such funds raised by our events go to support several important and worthy charities. Below is a brief list of the charities we have supported in the past and hope to support again in the future!

If you are a part of a charity based organization that you believe we should support, please feel free to contact us to discuss the possibity. As a donations based organization ourselves, we cannot support every organization that is presented to us, with cash donations. But for those we cannot help with cash donations, who still qualify for our assistance, we can offer help in the areas of exposure to your cause. Sometimes helping you get your message to the public is just as important as the cash donations!

Angels for AnimalsAngels for Animals - Started in Elida OH, Angels for Animals is an area shelter that provides a safe, long term (if needed) environment for animals.  They provide animals with all the medical care, shots, spaying/neutering and training that they may need to find their forever homes. Their mission is to eliminate animal cruelty and suffering, educate the public on animal welfare issues and to eliminate pet overpopulation.

Coast to Coast Dachshund RescueDachshund Rescue of North America- Dachshund Rescue of North America is nonprofit organization with one sole purpose — rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing needy dachshunds and mostly dachshund mixes. They are a network of experienced rescue people throughout the United States and Canada who were previously doing rescue independently and realized the benefits of joining together and combining resources.

Hancock County Sheriff K9 UnitHancock County K9 unit - The Hancock County Sheriff's Office has two Police Serve Dogs. PSD Becky, a long haired German Shepherd, and handler Deputy Fred Smith have served together since November 2005. PSD Kevin, a short haired Belgian Malinois, and handler Deputy Tom Miller have served together since April 2009.  Both teams are certified through the Ohio Peace Officers Training Academy and the North American Police Work Dog Association. They assist law enforcement agencies with drug searches, tracking lost children & elderly persons, search buildings and apprehend fleeing criminals. The National Dachshund Race organization provides funds which help off-set their medical care expenses.

WAGS 4 KidsW.A.G.S.4Kids - W.A.G.S.4Kids is dedicated to training and placing mobility service and skilled companion animals and giving them to children with disabilities.  They are driven by a belief in early intervention and will work with families to place a dog as early in a child's life as there is a need and an interest. Skilled companion animals feature a dog with a child safe disposition, temperament and behavior. Commands are trained with both verbal cues and hand signals so that either may be used. Mobility service animals have additional training of task assignment which may include: retrieval of objects, opening doors and drawers, hitting light switches or preparing as a brace animal to walk slowly next to a child for physical support.

TLU RescueTLU (To Love Unconditionally) Rescue - TLU Rescue was formed in May of 2009 and specializes in small breed dogs though they won’t turn away larger breeds if necessary. They will immediately provide medical care, shots, and spay/neutering through Findlay Animal Hospital when receiving a dog. Then the most rewarding part of rescue begins, the nurturing necessary to put light back into these babies eyes and to help them learn to trust humans again and becoming whole again.
